Welcome!

We started this blog to keep all of you updated on Eloise's progress.  As many of you know, Eloise was born on July 5, 2012 with a rare congenital limb deficiency called fibular hemimelia in both legs.  Due to the fibular hemimelia, Eloise has 3 toes on each foot, both of her ankles are maloriented and her left leg is projected to be about 4 cm shorter than her right leg.

When Eloise was 5 days old, we took her to a pediatric orthopedist who recommended amputation of both legs.  Unsatisfied with this prognosis, we decided to look elsewhere for other options.  Our search lead us to Dr. Dror Paley in West Palm Beach who gave us a viable option to amputation. Dr. Paley will perform superankle surgery on both of Eloise's ankles and will lengthen her left leg 4 cm.

Eloise's journey begins on January 5th when we hit the road for West Palm Beach.  Eloise's first 2 surgeries (left superankle & left leg lengthening) are planned for January 8th.  Her third surgery (right superankle) is scheduled for February 11th.  We will be giving as many updates and posting as many pictures as possible.  Thanks for all of the prayers and support!
